Google Checkout in ProStores

eB Unlimited now offers Google Checkout, Level 1 Integration (HTML API) in your Prostores store.

HTML implementations are recommended for small merchants who do not want to generate XML. But there are certain features that are not supported using this implementation:

The merchant cannot digitally sign API requests before submitting them to Google. Therefore, merchants should review all orders manually before processing orders to make sure product prices and shipping charges are correct and not altered.

The merchant cannot use the Merchant Calculations API, which enables merchants to use their own business logic to compute order totals using information that is not known when a Checkout API request is posted.

The customer will not be able to enter coupon or gift certificate codes in the Google Checkout user interface.

As far as our Integration with Prostores is concerned, here are the features.

Integration is only one-way. This means that inventory, customer and order information will not be updated in your ProStores. You can just use the Google Checkout Merchant Center to manage orders, charge customer's credit card, add shipment tracking information and send shipping notification. Google sends you and your customer an email notification when a customer completes an order.

Only Merchant-Defined Shipping (by quantity, weight or amount) or Flat-Rate Shipping defined at the product level will be supported. But if you have Real-Time shipping calculation, we also have a solution for you. Please inquire for details.

Multiple State Tax Rates and Shipping Zones are supported (i.e 48 Continental States, Alaska/Hawaii, All US States).

Ability to exclude PO Boxes and military addresses.

International shipping is supported.

Maximum of 10 unique items in the shopping cart with unlimited quantities per unique item. We can do up to 15 if requested.

Ebay to Prostores Checkout Redirect will not be supported. Google Checkout button will be disabled.

Adding Google Checkout Acceptance Logos:

After the Google Checkout is installed in your shopping cart, you should let your customers know that you accept Google Checkout™ by displaying Google Checkout acceptance logos on your website. Here is the link on how to do it.

Why use Google Checkout?

Google Checkout is a fast, convenient checkout process that enables your Google Checklout customers to buy from you quickly and securely, using a single username and password. Once they do, you can use Checkout to charge their credit or debit cards, process their orders and receive payments into your bank accounts.

Attract Buyers and Convert more Sales Now you can add the Google Checkout badge to your AdWords ads or next to your product listings in Google Base, which highlights your store and tells potential customers that shopping with you will be convenient and secure.

Fraud Protection Google Checkout merchants can sell with complete confidence. Checkout proactively identifies and filters out fraudulent transactions, evaluates all chargebacks you receive and, whenever possible, fights them on your behalf.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

On May 5, 2009, Google Checkout's transaction processing fees will be changing from 2.0% + $0.20 per transaction to a new tiered pricing structure, where the rates will vary depending on the amount of your monthly sales processed through Checkout.

At that time, we'll also be discontinuing the free transaction processing promotion for AdWords advertisers. Any AdWords transaction processing credits accrued during April 2009 will be applied towards transactions that occur on May 1-4, 2009.
